JKidd’s in my rear view? Hmm…The NBA? I’ve got this!
New Orleans 84, New Jersey 82
Paul best Kidd in marquee point guard match up.
So many relevant points I want to make here, and it’s killing me, but it just has to wait for SLAM.
The Nets seem to be searching for an offensive identity this season and the absence of Vince Carter may do the trick. Richard Jefferson is scoring 26 per and seems to be healthy for the first time in a while. Jason Kidd is still performing surgery on the lig. Dicing, dishing, spinning and switching to his left for that signature layup we all visualize right…now. Nenad Krstic is almost back from a knee injury that kept him out of 56 games last season. He’s a force, don’t sleep.
The Hornets are an excited team. They ambitiously want to make their mark and really don’t care who is in front of them. Being around this team the other night, I was inspired by the eyes light bright of a team unified. You know the little smile…
Anyway, Chris Paul had a key steal and found Morris Peterson for a game tying three +1 to tie. CJ scored the game winning layup with 2.6 seconds left. He finishes with a season high 27 points, 6 rebounds, 7 dimes and 3 steals to pace the Hornets. Tyson Chandler added 14 points, 12 rips and 3 blocks.
All five Hornet starters were in double figures. Remember when this was Zo’s team? Seems so long ago huh?
Richard Jefferson, fourth in the league in scoring, led the Nets with 32. Kidd had 14 points, 10 rips and 9 dimes. How many triple doubles would Kidd have if he just wasn’t one off of any of the three?
He’s second in the league to Paul in assists–averaging 10.5.
The Hornets took full advantage of their charity stripe visits (9-10). The Nets did not and missed 5 of 21.

It’s my bike punk!
Denver 122, Cleveland 100.
Iverson 37, Smith 29.
Whenever these teams get together, most will focus on Bron Bron and Melo. Rightfully so, because though The King gets the shine, Carmelo Anthony is one the most gifted scorers in the league. Last night, Melo could chill as Bubba Chuck brought the lunch pail.
Iverson hit for 37 and J.R. Smith 29, as Denver simply ran away from the Cavs. With the 1st half ejection of Larry Hughes, the already injury depleted Cavs were left without yet another guard to play some defense.
Shannon Brown finally got off the pine to score 12 in 16 minutes.
Denver used 55% shooting to steamroll the Cavs.
J.R. Smith was a sick 7-8 from the three point line and the Nuggets as a team shot 12-22 from beyond the arc. .
James scored 27 but didn’t have the all around game necessary to keep his team close.
Too bad Eric Gordon and Derrick Rose are still in school. Cleveland could use either of them at this point.
Sacramento 117, Utah 93.
Boozer 32 and 13. One more game before the return of Ron Ron.
