I don't think Spencer knows me by name but probably by face. he is an inspiration to men(black or white) for overcoming poverty,addiction and disparity. I as a former pro athelete thank Spencer for all he has done for the city of Detroit, the willingness to test the system back in the day and succeeding. A note for all future readers is to remember that the most important message he states in the interview is the acknowledging of our Lord and savior. If you ever meet the man in person you will how genuine he is. I have known him since he was a child when he used to sneak me in the back door at the University of Detroit. It's a shame they don't realize that all over the world when you mention the school the first name comes to mind is Spencer Haywood.
